Sonar Entertainment’s New Kids Series Go Away Unicorn! Premieres September 7 on Corus Entertainment’s YTV in Canada

Go Away Unicorn!, Sonar Entertainment’s new series for kids 6-9 is set to make its debut in Canada on Friday, September 7 at 4pm ET on Corus Entertainment’s YTV.  The series will premiere on Disney Channels worldwide, including the US, in early 2019.

Go Away Unicorn! follows the adventures of Alice, a modern, independent and sassy young girl who is passionate about a wide array of interests and optimistically jumps at any chance to be ultra-organized and sophisticated. She is not your usual ‘girly girl’ – and much prefers sports and books to rainbows and glitter – until a real-life Unicorn shows up at her birthday party and declares himself her new best friend. This wacky party animal is going to make sure Alice squeezes some fun into her life, whether she likes it or not. Together they learn to embrace their differences and realize friendships are often found in the unlikeliest of places.

The new 52x11 series, plus 10x1 shorts, is based on the popular children’s book published by McKellar & Martin, written and illustrated by Emily Mullock, and was developed by Dan Signer (ANT Farm, Some Assembly Required). On board to direct is Jason Groh (Wishfart, Little Charmers) with Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana serving as the animation studio. Chris Diamantopoulos (Mickey Mouse, Silicon Valley) and Rebecca Husain (The Good Doctor, Beat Bugs) star as lead voice talent. Go Away Unicorn! is produced with assistance from the Canada Media Fund.

The series features music from the acclaimed Canadian indie-pop band Walk Off The Earth, which wrote and performs the main title theme for the series.

“YTV is a terrific partner and the perfect place to debut Go Away Unicorn!” said Andrea Gorfolova, President, Kids, Family & Factual, Sonar Entertainment.  “This beautiful story of a strong girl character who dares to be different features a terrific team of local Canadian creative talent behind it. The series, which has been pre-sold into territories across the world, will resonate strongly with young audiences everywhere.”

CentaIP is the worldwide licensing agent for the series.
